ADIVI System

How-to Install - Windows Version

ADIVI requires:

  • .NET Framework 1.1                         [ check ]
  • IIS - Internet Information Services     [ check ]
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher          [ check ]

and is supported on these operating systems:

  • Windows 2000;
  • Windows XP Professional Edition;
  • Windows 2003 Server;

Note: ADIVI is not supported on Windows XP Home Edition.

ADIVI requires a monitor with VGA resolution with 1024x768 minimum resolution.

If these components are already installed, you can launch the install procedure.

Check if .NET Framework 1.1 is installed

  • First you need to have the IIS - Internet Information Services installed (check it here);
  • Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs;
  • Search in the list for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1;

Click here to install (this operation could take several minutes).

If you have installed .NET Framework 1.1before IIS - Internet Information Services:
Open a command line prompt:

  • Start > Run;
  • Type ' cmd ' and press OK button;

  • Run command aspnet_regiis.exe -i on .NET Framework 1.1 directory;

Check if IIS - Internet Information Services is installed

  • Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs;
  • Add and Remove Windows Components (left-side);

  • Check if Internet Information Services (IIS) is selected;

  • If is not selected, select it and click Next button;
  • Note: You need the Microsoft Windows XP Professional CD to install IIS;

 

 

Check if Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher is installed

  • Start > Programs > Internet Explorer;
  • Click on Help Menu and select About Internet Explorer;

  • Check if Version number is higher than 6.0

You can download Internet Explorer 6.0 here or Internet Explorer 7.0 here
(You must have a internet connection)

 

 

Troubleshooting

  • If you cannot login on the system, you must verify the ADIVI config files to check that everithing is ok.:

We start by ckeck the config file for the webservices ' C:\Program Files\Adivi\webservice\bin\hibernate.cfg.xml '

In this configuration the Data Source must to point to the 'adivi.db' file ('C:\Program Files\Adivi\sqlite\adivi.db').
Next verify the flash client config file ' C:\Program Files\Adivi\webservice\flash\config.xml ':

In this configuration the ServerUrl must point to the 'webservices layer' (' http://<IP Address>/Adivi ').
You can try if the webservice layer of ADIVI is correctly configured by pointing your web browser to: ' http://<IP Address>/adivi/ServiceAdmin.asmx ',
you should see the fallowing screen.

Finally try the ADIVI Flash client by pointing your web browser to: ' http://<IP Address>/adivi/flash/HypervideoFlashClient.html '.

  • If you still connot login on the system, check the Adivi log file for additional errors ' C:\Program Files\Adivi\webservice\AdiviServer.log ':
